The new 45-hole golf course and the adjoining resort were built pursuing the tourism enhancement project of the Sicilian coast, emphasizing the environmental and landscape value of this area which falls within the SIC area – Sites of Community Interest. All plant species used in landscape design were developed on site, maintaining a direct relationship with the Department of Botany of the University of Palermo with the aim of preserving the biodiversity of native species.

The area between the golf holes has been preserved and replanted with more than 3,500 orange and olive trees; in addition, a new wetland area with a natural habitat was created to compensate part of the artificial landscape and improve ecological connections such as ecotones, buffer areas and natural corridors. The presence of the native fauna has been significantly increased after the landscaping works that have transformed agricultural land into new patches of grassy dunes and natural habitats.
