The scheme wants to think about the possible “specific” functions of an educational and recreational park for children, thanks to the presence of play areas and small sports fields, in addition to its more general role of leisure and rest for different audiences by age, hours of use, etc. The attempt was to generate places with different environmental qualities, but not to establish in a too mechanical way a unique relationship between spaces and “user groups”.
The “specific” areas such as those intended for equipped games and relaxation areas, which require strong physical boundaries or fences, are kept to the west. A large bench-fence delimits the space for children, making it easy for adult companions to visually check them. A glacis of earth acts as an occasional “tribune” for the playing spaces and can host small services inside.
