GREEN SYSTEM PLAN

GREEN SYSTEM PLAN

BETWEEN CITY AND COUNTRY SECTOR PLAN AND RAVENNA’S GREEN BELT

The Green Sector Plan is part of the provincial capital design and includes a system of “green belts” which follows an internal path of ancient walls, and an external one that runs along the edge/fringe of the city. The larger green areas and those with environmental or historic places of heritage value become the generative nuclei of a “thematic green path” that hems the ancient city walls. The large parks clearly emerge as true multi-functional spaces capable of stimulating social interest. In addition to Theodoric Park, a hinge of the green belt, the new urban Baronio Park and Caesarea Park stand on the existing new areas and those planned for the future.
Thus, the cessation of land to the city is strategic for the development of these parks in order to create an integrated green area, that is a local urban and regional eco network, thereby ensuring that redevelopment landscape will constitute for developing the parks it is of strategic importance that municipal administration the sale of the land required to carry out such parks, in order to form a unified system of green, ie a local ecological network, both on an urban scale both on a regional scale, so that landscape recovery and renewal may constitute the fundamental building block sof an ecological-environmental system.
